This semester was my first time writing a blog. The world of blogging has always been a bit of a mystery to me before: I never kept up with anyone’s blog and I never wrote one myself. So the initial thought of keeping a blog for my class this semester was somewhat intimidating. However, I was surprised to find that it was actually an enjoyable activity. I’ve blogged about several interesting topics this semester, including the ethics of photoshopping, iconic images, how people represent themselves online, how the combination of a photograph and text can change a viewer’s interpretation of the image entirely. The assignments have opened my eyes to the different ways media is used in modern society and to the effect that it has on the people who view it.
